SFC prosecutes Long Investment Management Ltd for short-selling

Well that's the long and short of it. The offence occurred on the last day of the Government's stock market blitz, when the Government was manipulating the stock market to push the index up on the settlement day for the August 1998 futures contract. The next day, when they stopped, the HSI dropped 7.1%.
